NLP will become rare / crazy?

Hello, I read a little about NLP and has been throughout a course (one session for an idea that – perhaps with the intention to be a workout in one day). All which seem to NLP is a "professional" seems a bit weird, crazy or on the edge. Is this a symptom of NLP, because if it is, I think it's probably wise to stay clear. I think it has merit, but do not really like cleaning up the idea in my head too – who knows what effect it might have. However, That could be completely wrong and the few experiences I have are not what they had had from others. I am struggling to find the answers by google, so therefore the question on yahoo answers. If you also know where I go to see to know some more information, please let me know!
